What a wonderful world
Growing up in Kerala in southern India, young Rony Stephen enjoyed nothing more than hearing about the travels of his father, a captain in the merchant navy. Now he’s a full-time AGSM MBA student, his world view still influences every choice he makes. “From childhood I had an inclination to work in other places too," he says.

After earning an electrical engineering degree, Rony worked in the north of India and Germany before moving to Australia to study for his MBA with the help of the $25,000 Allard Partners Scholarship.
"For me one of the great value propositions of the AGSM MBA degree is that you're working with students from all over the world, from different backgrounds and with different educations," says Rony who believes it’s essential to develop a cultural sensitivity in today's business world.
Rony has a particular interest in the Asia-Pacific region because it's currently driving so much of the world economy, and because of its untapped potential.
He plans to work in the Asia-Pacific in the finance sector, probably in the area of investment, or as a management consultant, in the near future.
"I don't think I'll ever reach a stage where I'll say that I've succeeded and that it's time to settle down, I'll always enjoy doing new things," Rony concludes. "
"Success, to me, is always doing the best you can, always doing what I find interesting at the time and always learning through being challenged."
