UNSW INNOVATION
SUMMIT 2015

Strengthening Australian Innovation and Asia Capability for Global Competitiveness

Sept 18 Friday | Westin Hotel Sydney, Australia

About the Summit

Two accelerating mega-trends are fundamentally changing the competitive dynamics in the global marketplace:

  • The shift of economic competition from efficiency to innovation.
  • The shift of the world’s economic centre from the West to Asia.

These two developments are disrupting industries and rendering many existing business models obsolete.  To ensure Australia’s future prosperity, policymakers in both the public and private sectors need to address the following questions:

  • What does the nation need to do to compete successfully in an innovation-driven and Asia-centred global economy?
  • How can business, industry, academia, and government collaborate to strengthen Australian innovation and Asia capability?
  • In what industries does Australia need to do a better job of preparing for increased competition from other countries?

The UNSW Innovation Summit will discuss these questions and examine their policy implications.  Roundtable groups organized by economic sector, Asian market, and policy initiative are included for participants to propose action plans for further development and implementation.
