At the UNSW Business School, accounting is more than an important technical competence to be mastered. Accounting provides a solid base for a choice of rewarding and worthwhile careers.
Accounting is also an academic discipline to be researched, stimulating your intellect and developing the understanding that underlies accounting in practice worldwide.
The School of Accounting attracts a very bright and inspiring cohort of students, both locally and from neighbouring countries in the Asia Pacific region. In recent years, two of our accounting students have won Rhodes scholarships and our alumni occupy key leadership roles in the private and public sectors.
The School's award-winning lecturers use leading edge technology, purpose-designed teaching facilities, as well as feedback from both students and employers to continually improve our courses, keeping them at the forefront in educational excellence.
On the research front, our School is ranked as the leading research institution in the Asia Pacific region, comparable with some of the top universities in North America. Our professors include world leaders in their areas of research and we have a strong Honours program, and a vibrant and diverse PhD program that promotes intellectual curiosity and fulfilment.
Importantly, we're also a School that contributes in diverse ways to public life both within Australia and internationally. We foster relationships between commerce and academia, and many of our staff serve on advisory panels, review committees and boards for commercial, professional and government bodies, both locally and internationally.
As a school of students, educators, researchers and leaders, we encourage and sustain curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need any further information. I look forward to meeting you.
