2006 International Symposium on Audit Research

The 2006 International Symposium on Audit Research (ISAR) brought tremendous depth of global thought and experience to the doorstep of Australian auditing researchers.

Hosted by The UNSW Australia Centre for Accounting and Assurance Services Research, ISAR 2006 was held on 22-23 June 2006 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Coogee Beach, Sydney.

ISAR is held annually and is co-sponsored by four universities: University of Southern California (USA), Universiteit Maastricht (Netherlands), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and UNSW Australia.

Of the 120 plus participants at ISAR 2006, more than 40 travelled from international universities. The event was supported by a number of the top accounting academics from the United States, with other participants adding a diverse European and Asian flavour.

Sessions included a discussion of France's system of joint audit, exploration of the influence of language and culture on accounting practice, a range of experimental research and more.
