Centre for International Finance and Regulation (CIFR)
The Centre for International Finance and Regulation (CIFR) was a centre for research and education in the financial sector. CIFR ceased to operate at the end of 2016, however, the valuable resources developed remains publicly available and accessible via the UNSW Library.
Positioning itself as a bridge between the practical needs of capital markets and pioneering academic research, RoZetta (previously known as the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre – CMCRC) was formed in 2001 under the auspices of the Federal Department of Education Science and Technology (DEST) Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) program. It brings together the best in innovative research and technology to the capital markets domain and harnesses the combined research resources of approximately 40 senior researchers from the fields of finance and technology.
Institute of Global Finance (IGF)
Based at the University of New South Wales, the Institute of Global Finance (IGF) is housed at Australia's leading UNSW Business School. The IGF works in collaboration with the New York University’s Volatility Institute. The IGF’s work with the NYU Volatility Institute focuses on banks’ systemic risk, global financial stability and financial institutions. The IGF works with business and finance organisations such as PwC, Finsia and BlackRock and international institutions such as the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, with the aim of providing cutting edge research with policy applications for the finance industry and policy makers. Another objective of the IGF is the promotion of global prosperity by promoting financial policies which contribute to regional and global financial integration, amongst a number of other mechanisms.
The IGF aims to improve global prosperity and stability through collaboration with major international institutions and leading research organisations.
Securities Industry Research Centre of Asia-Pacific (SIRCA)
SIRCA is the region's leading financial services research hub. SIRCA is a unique not-for-profit financial services research organisation established by collaborating universities to build and share a world-class research infrastructure in partnership with industry and government. Cross-disciplinary teams of leading academics working alongside industry based thought leaders on research projects which include best practice financial market design, e-security and fraud, e-business, knowledge and risk management, investment and funds management and accounting and corporate governance.
