The School of Economics offers two research degrees, a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Philosophy.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
The aim of the UNSW Business School’s Doctoral Program in Economics is to train you with the skills to identify, analyse and solve problems using original academic research in this field. Two years of rigorous coursework will be undertaken, followed by full-time research culminating in a doctoral thesis. Your exciting work, under the guidance of world-class academic experts, will ultimately make a valuable impact on future research and practices in your chosen field.
Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is designed for students who wish to increase their knowledge in a particular discipline through research. It aims to deepen students insight into underlying paradigms, advanced theory and research processes in a commerce discipline; develop competence in conducting research; and provide opportunities for the design of discipline-based research projects.
