International exchange opportunities

Choose between an Alternative (Intensive) exchange or a traditional full-time exchange.

The program allows students in the full-time MBA, Stage 1 of the MBA (Executive), as well as MBAX and MBT students to undertake a component of their requirements with an International Exchange partner.

  • Traditional exchange
  • Alternative exchange

You will be joining the full-time program for a full semester at one of our partner schools with selected global partner institutions. These exchanges are for students looking to gain an international perspective and develop a well-rounded educational experience.

Application timeline

  • Applications open - 3:00pm Friday, 29 March 2019
  • Applications close - 3:00pm Sunday, 5 May 2019
  • Outcome of application notification via email - COB Thursday, 6 June 2019
  • Deadline for accepting/declining offer - Midday Monday, 10 June 2019

How to apply

Step 1: Review the Outgoing Exchange Policy
Step 2: Review the Session Dates and Study Load document in order to best select your preferences (document currently under review)
Step 3: Read the International Exchange Application Guidelines on how to apply and what to include

Please note: Each applicant can make only one submission

How it works

Students on exchange receive full credit for overseas study and their AGSM MBA program tuition fees cover tuition at the exchange school. Places are allocated according to a fixed, pre-negotiated quota of positions that are made available by partner schools (to be reciprocal over a 3 year period).

Selection is based on both academic and non-academic criteria (in equal weighting):

  • Academic: Grades are taken from results in the students' core/foundation courses (up to and including 1 session)
  • Non-academic: Students applications are assessed by the selection committee

On an ongoing basis we offer short term exchange opportunities for students looking to gain an international perspective and develop a well-rounded educational experience. Typically classes are conducted in an intensive mode over a two-week period which is ideal for students with a busy work schedule.

Alternative Exchange is offered through the MBA (Executive) program.  You may apply to take these international intensive courses and receive 6-12 UOC from AGSM in lieu of taking elective courses at AGSM.

Eligibility

It is recommended that you have completed some core courses prior to application as it is a competitive process and all applications are considered in line with the host school requirement.

How to apply

If you would like further details about any of the school’s offerings, specific courses or timetables, please contact Student Experience on studentexperience@agsm.edu.au

  • Please note that there are limited spaces available for AGSM students and places are allocated primarily on first in, first served basis with priority given to those further through their studies. Quality of application and academic results are also taken into consideration.
  • Given that the offer turnaround time is typically only 2 weeks, earlier applicants have a higher chance of obtaining a place. Once places are filled, you can still apply and be placed on a waitlist
  • Deadlines vary for each intensive option and a summary of all courses and timings is below. This information is updated as we receive it from our partners.  Reminders leading up to upcoming application deadlines will also be posted in the weekly student newsletters.
  • Once you have decided on a course, complete the application form here and email studentexperience@agsm.edu.au to get a confirmation of receipt.
  • For courses from March 2019 onwards- If you wish to apply for more than one AE course, please indicate your preferences as the option to take more than one AE course is subject to both availability and student demand. In the instance of high demand, successful applicants will be offered their first preference.
