Businesses exist within a complex legal and regulatory environment that shapes how they can and should operate. Beyond what is legal, organisations and individual managers also need to understand the ethical issues associated with the decisions that they and their organisations make. This course provides students with an introduction to core principles of business law, an overview of the various forms that regulation takes in a contemporary economy and introduces them to a variety of ethical frameworks that can be used to guide business decision making. The course introduces these concepts by focussing on contemporary cases and business examples and equips students to recognise legal and regulatory issues and equips them with ethical frameworks that they can apply in their professional lives.
