Purpose & overview. ACT is an acronym that stands for:

... so you can ACT on participating in MGMT1001.
That is, the purpose of these weekly exercises in the McGraw-Hill Education Connect® platform, accessible via Moodle, is to encourage regular reading and active learning by completing self-assessment tools so you obtain regular feedback about whether you understand the course concepts. This process will also help you to manage your study load more evenly across the session. Part 2A: Communication Exercise
Purpose. To develop skills for evidence-based business writing.
Overview. Before your week 2 tutorial, read and watch the preparation materials provided via Moodle. Note that materials will differ depending on what tutorial you are enrolled in. There will be no time to complete the preparation materials during the tutorial. In the week 2 tutorial, complete a short essay response.

Part 2B: MGMT1001 Plan
Purpose. To write an evidence-based, self-reflection report that evaluates your professional skills and sets a plan to advance these skills during MGMT1001.

Part 2C: Professional Development Report
Purpose. To write an evidence-based, self-reflection report that evaluates progress on your professional skills during MGMT1001, and sets a plan for the remainder of your degree.

3. Team Portfolio (13%)
Part 3A: Simulations
Purpose. To identify factors that improve effectiveness of individuals and teams.
Overview. Work with your study team to complete two simulations about climbing Mount Everest.

Weight. 0%. Completing both simulations is needed for writing a comprehensive Professional Development Report; if you do not participate in both simulations it will be difficult to achieve a pass in the Professional Development Report.
Part 3B: Peer feedback
Purpose. To practice giving , receiving and acting on evidenced-based developmental feedback to improve your own and your peer’s effectiveness in team work.
Overview. Complete three short surveys where you provide feedback to your peers on their behaviour and performance; receive and act on feedback where valid.

Part 3C: Video submission
Purpose. With your study team, demonstrate that you can apply principles of evidence-based management.
Overview. Create a short (2 minutes maximum) video with your study team.

Purpose. Demonstrate your understanding of managerial roles and organisations so that you can identify factors that improve effectiveness of individuals, teams, and organisations.
Overview. 2-hour exam that includes multiple choice and short answer questions.
