Experts from UNSW Business School will provide an independent analysis of the Federal Budget 2019 in a roundtable discussion on the UNSW campus on Thursday 4th April.
The 2019 BusinessThink Budget Briefing, which will analyse the announcements in Canberra, and new measures presented by The Hon Josh Frydenberg MP. A panel of UNSW Business School experts will discuss the key budget measures, as well as analysis of the state of the Australian economy.
Professor Richard Holden, who will look at the budget from an Macroeconomic impacts, business, and employment.
Tim Harcourt, who is an expert in trade. He will look forward with analysis of Australia’s trade position, in particular with China and Indonesia, the FTA, and the impact of Brexit, which occurs the day before the budget.
Professor Fiona Martin, an internationally recognised expert on taxation issues, who will look at issues relating to GST, real estate taxation, and profit shifting overseas by multi-national corporations.
Lecturer Kathrin Bain, who will comment on GST on low value imports, and GST compliance, international taxation, alternative tax models, and tax simplification.
