Experts from UNSW Business School will provide an independent analysis of the Federal Budget 2018 in a roundtable discussion in Sydney’s CBD on 9 May 2018.
The 2018 BusinessThink Budget Briefing, which will analyse the announcements in Canberra, and new measures presented by The Hon, Scott Morrison MP. A panel of UNSW Business School experts will discuss the key budget measures, such as company tax breaks and changes to superannuation, as well as analysis of the state of the Australian economy.
Professor Richard Holden, who will look at the budget from an Macroeconomic impacts, business, and employment.
John Piggott, who is an expert in superannuation and taxation and is the Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research.
Professor Fiona Martin, an internationally recognised expert on taxation issues, who will look at issues relating to GST, real estate taxation, and profit shifting overseas by multi-national corporations.
Lecturer Kathrin Bain, who will comment on GST on low value imports, and GST compliance, international taxation, alternative tax models, and tax simplification.
The panel will be moderated by BusinessThink Senior Journalist Julian Lorkin with an introduction from UNSW Business School's Associate Dean (Research), Professor Elizabeth Carson.
