Two recent cocktail parties held simultaneously in Sydney and Adelaide celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). The annual networking events were attended by Australian School of Business and AGSM alumni.

The Adelaide event also included a panel discussion about the importance of international trade to South Australia. With over $14 billion of international trade in goods and services in the South Australian Economy the panel explored Australia's trade priorities and the impact of current global economic conditions. Panellists included - Alex Brooking, Director of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade SA; Raymond Najar, National Chairman Australia of Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Francis Wong, Chairman of the Council for International Trade and Commerce SA.

With over 200 alumni and guests at the newly renovated Museum of Contemporary Art, the 2012 Alumni event in Sydney continued to be a key opportunity for alumni to reconnect and strengthen business connections. Rod Chisholm, an Olympic Rower in both the Beijing and London Games and an AGSM MBA alumnus, was the guest speaker for the evening. Mr. Chisholm drew on interesting parallels between elite sport and the business world.

Over $4000 was raised in Sydney for the Scholarship Appeal Fund, which helps talented disadvantaged students study at the Australian School of Business. The evenings highlighted the achievements of the School in 2012 and celebrated the 35th Anniversary of the AGSM.
