Q: What did receiving the 2019 AGSM Anita Prabhu Women Leaders in Business Award mean to you?
A: Receiving the award was a great honour. I am very grateful to AGSM and Anita Prabu for awarding this prize to me and for recognising my achievements in the field of Learning and Development within the Australian Defence Force.
Q: Why should AGSM current students and alumni apply for this prize?
A: Applying for the prize was an opportunity to evaluate how I have progressed through my career, consider my achievements and take pride in my accomplishments. Whether I received the award or not, just applying increased my self-confidence and made me aware of my impact on the business community.
Q: Why is it important that awards like this one celebrate and recognise female business leaders?
A: It is widely accepted that gender diversity in business can have a significant and positive impact on an organisation’s level of success. Awards like this are not only important in recognising the achievements of female business leaders and innovators, it will encourage the next generation of businesswomen, who will shape and lead future organisations, to implement innovative and entrepreneurial strategies in their organisations.
Q: How is the AGSM MBA preparing you to apply the principles of innovation and leadership in a business role?
A: My MBA journey with AGSM has been a life-changing experience. The learning environment is dynamic and collaborative with courses that combine innovative thinking with practical learning. I feel empowered to meet challenges within the evolving business landscape and to lead with confidence.
