Business Buzz, the Australian School of Business annual speed-networking event was again held on 30 September in the Sydney office of Macquarie Telecom.

The event facilitates connections between alumni and current ASB undergraduate students, helping students to hone their networking skills and giving alumni the chance to connect with the younger generation of business talent.

Students use the opportunity to talk to alumni about their business careers and gain first-hand knowledge about the realities of the workplace that awaits them after graduation. Students say the speed networking format is effective in helping them to meet a range of alumni who have experience in many different areas of business.

Business Buzz is organised by the ASB Alumni office and BSoc, the undergraduate student society. Jeremy Yam, Careers Director at BSoc says the event is an important opportunity for students.

"As it becomes increasingly competitive for students to enter the workforce, contacts and networks have become more important than ever before", says Jeremy.

"Business Buzz is just one initiative that allows students of the Business Society to interact with ASB alumni to develop these invaluable networks, whilst gaining general career advice and a greater insight into the various industries that their Business degree can take them."
