Passion for corporate social responsibility has won Zoe Diamond a seat at the prestigious World Bank & IMF Annual Meeting to be held in Peru this October.

Zoe is a UNSW Australia Business School final year business student and Co-op Program scholar.

"It's really a great honour to be representing Australia and UNSW," she says. "I'm very excited to hear from political and economic leaders and gaining fresh insight into topical issues."

Zoe Diamond submitted a research proposal entitled 'social and ethical implications of corporate tax avoidance in Australia', to win a position in the delegation of students from universities across Australia and will subsequently produce a 4,000 word paper, as part of her research fellowship, on the topic.

"I really think the only way for companies to develop long term models is to be socially responsible - and I have a deep passion for that."

Four students are on the delegation for the Global Voices Research Fellowship, and will be traveling to Lima for ten days. Zoe's trip is funded by the UNSW Co-op Global Policy Scholarship.

"International organisations such as the IMF create a platform with which international solutions can be developed. My hope is that as a delegate, I can contribute to this crucial conversation and bring my research to the table," she says.

Zoe is studying a Bachelor of Commerce(Co-op) majoring in Accounting and Business Management, and has already landed a management consulting graduate role with Deloitte for 2016. She hopes to use her passion to influence companies to adopt socially responsible practises to generate long-term value.

Before the trip the delegation will attend a two-day, pre-departure briefing with Australian government leaders, including Ministers & Shadow Ministers, diplomats and embassy representatives, in Canberra.

Global Voices is a non-profit organization with the aim to provide future leaders to connect to the world. They select and coordinating opportunities for student delegations to participate major international events such as the G20 and APEC summits.

The UNSW Co-op Program scholarship  is an industry linked scholarship which offers financial support combined with industry training for high achievers and is open for application now to year 12 students entering university.
