Thursday, 12 November 2015
Chris Styles welcomes to the UNSW Business School the Consul General of
Indonesia to New South Wales, Mr Yayan GH Mulyana.
Indonesia’s consul-general was at the UNSW Business School recently giving an insight into Indonesia to a group of students who are taking part in a work and culture program in Jakarta.
Consul General, Mr Yayan GH Mulyana, spoke to the 15 undergraduate students in the UNSW Global Business Practicum about the importance of engagement between the two countries in education and business, particularly amongst young people.
The Practicum, supported by funding from the Australian Government’s New Colombo Plan, is part of the UNSW Business School’s 2020 Strategy of two-way engagement with Asia. Indonesia has been a priority country for 2015.
UNSW Business School Dean, Professor Chris Styles, said: “Our focus on Indonesia in 2015 has further developed our strong links across many areas, not only recruitment, but also student mobility, corporate engagement, and connections to the best business educators and researchers in Indonesia.”
The students will work alongside counterparts from BINUS University at 5 companies in various industries to tackle real world business challenges. They are the latest group to head to Asia as part of the Practicum, with other groups going to Hong Kong and Shanghai over the Australian summer.
The 2015 focus on Indonesia will culminate with an event in Jakarta on 26th November (BusinessThink I Indonesia) for alumni, business leaders, and education partners.
