Over the recent past, Daniel has mentored well over a dozen CEOs in a variety of industries, including consumer goods, retail, transport, telecommunications, professional services and energy.
Following his return to Australia, after 17 years overseas, Daniel spent 18 highly successful years in the Professional Services sector in Sydney. This included two years as Global Chairman of one of the leading international Executive Search firms. During the previous two decades, he held a number of senior management and CEO roles in Switzerland, Spain, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia, with two large US and European multinationals, Grace Industrial Chemicals and the SGS Group, where he was a Senior Vice-President. Earlier in his career, he worked in Australia for a diversified investment and trading organisation followed by four years with The Coca-Cola Company.
Throughout his career, Daniel’s focus has been on strategic issues, people leadership and development, building strong client relationships, as well as on marketing and operational matters. He has continued this ‘people focus’, by mentoring clients at CEO and senior executive levels. He is now one of the five principals at The Adelante Group.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with Merit) from UNSW, an MBA from INSEAD in France and an AICD Diploma (with Merit). He is multi-lingual and is currently Chair of the Australasian Advisory Council for INSEAD. He was also the Inaugural Chair of the Advisory Council of the UNSW School of Medicine, a position he held for over five years. He is a Director of the UNSW Foundation and sits on the University's Risk Committee. Recently, Daniel was awarded a Doctorate (honoris causa) by the University of New South Wales for services to tertiary education.
Daniel’s wife Helen is an exhibiting Artist and they have two grown children. He divides his time between Sydney and their farm in the Southern Highlands.
