Eric joined UNSW as an Associate Professor in July 2017. He obtained his BSc (Actuarial Science) degree from the University of Hong Kong, and completed the MMath and PhD degrees, both in Actuarial Science, at the University of Waterloo. After PhD study, Eric worked at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science of the University of Hong Kong for 7 years (Assistant Professor 2010-2016; Associate Professor 2016-2017). His current research interests include insurance risk theory, ruin theory, aggregate claims analysis, queueing theory, stochastic processes, risk management and financial mathematics. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
