Professor Morita's research focuses on applied microeconomic theory, where his main fields of interest are industrial organisation, organisational economics, international trade, and economics of Japanese business. He has written on topics such as internal labour market, free entry and social efficiency, competitor collaboration, relational contracts, group identity and firm boundaries, and after-market monopolisation. His articles have appeared in leading journals in his research field.
