About Judith

Judith Watson has been a lecturer in the School of Economics, UNSW Australia Business School for many years and has also served as the faculty's academic adviser. She has taught quantitative courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Since initiating the Peer Assistance Support Scheme (PASS) in 1996 in first year quantitative methods courses, she has been a long term co-ordinator of the successful program. She has a keen interest in learning and teaching development. Recently this has resulted in her developing a number of online Adaptive eLearning Tutorials on topics in business mathematics and statistics.

Judith's contributions to teaching and student support have been recognised by several awards. The Business School presented her with its Outstanding Teaching Innovation Award in 2007 and the Bill Birkett Award for Teaching Excellence in 2012. She also received the University's top award for teaching, the 2012 UNSW Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence. Most recently she was the recipient of a 2013 Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning from the Australian Government's Office for Learning and Teaching.

Her current research is in the area of the student learning experience in quantitative courses.
