Professor Karavdic is both an experienced practitioner and academic whose expertise spans innovation management, human centred design, customer-centric transformation, programs implementation, strategy development and leadership effectiveness. He is the founder of WAVE Design, a design company with a focus on helping established companies ‘humanise’ their business as part of their transformation mission and drive meaningful customer experiences. Munib is actively engaged at Stanford University’s Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (Stanford Seed) where he provides advice as a subject matter expert to SEED's Volunteer Business Coaches and companies operating in West Africa who are helping local businesses to grow.
In the past few years Munib and his team have transformed one of Australia’s largest financial institutions into a design and customer driven organisation. He has also advised established organisations and small businesses on enabling effective innovation capabilities and customer-centric strategy, underpinned by human-centred design. He has worked in various senior positions in large financial institutions like AMP, St.George Bank, Westpac, and Macquarie Group. He is internationally acclaimed innovation speaker delivering key notes in Australia, USA, New Zealand and Russia.
Munib’s research focuses on Innovation management, human centred design and e-commerce. He has taught Strategic Marketing, Customer Relationship Marketing and International Marketing postgraduate programs. He currently teaches Creativity, Innovation & Change.
In addition to his industry and academic activities, Munib has carried out consulting and executive teaching assignments in Australia and Europe. He has been a member of the Australian Marketing Institute's (AMI), a member of the AMI NSW council for 2 years, Design Management Institute, USA, Service Design Network, USA. He has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) program.
Munib has published a number of research papers, case studies and management articles in a range of leading academic journals and management texts.
