Nidal has spent his career advising and consulting in the areas of investment, tax, superannuation, financial planning and financial services regulation. Throughout his career Nidal has worked and contributed to academia teaching in the areas of ethics, professional standards tax, business law, wealth management, financial planning, and financial literacy.
Nidal is an adjunct lecturer at UNSW. He convenes and lectures courses in the areas of ethics and professional standards, wealth management, behavioural finance, financial planning, business law, superannuation, risk management and estate planning.
Nidal is also the Principal Director of Prosperity Financial Services P/L (PFS Consultancy), an accounting consultancy practice he founded in 2002. The major focus of his firm is to provide advice to organisations, businesses, and professionals in the areas of advice remediation, financial services regulation and compliance, governance and risk management.
Nidal has worked and regularly consults with Australia’s major banks, large financial institutions, investment banks and accounting firms. He performs compliance audits and advises these organisations on their education and professional development needs and facilitates the formation of a robust assessment remediation and risk management framework.
Nidal has also consulted to the regulators including Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) advising on issues related to financial services regulations, quality of advice, licensing and education standards of financial advisers, and enforceable undertakings. Additionally, he was engaged to drive consultation with the industry. Nidal has been working on several financial services regulatory projects related to industry advice assessment and remediation projects, acting as an adviser and a subject matter expert.
Nidal has completed several research study assignments abroad including in the USA with the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE Euronext), the Federal Reserve Bank and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
As an active member of the profession, Nidal is a regular presenter and moderator at various investment, tax, superannuation, and financial planning seminars.
Serving as a subject matter expert in the areas of tax and financial planning, Nidal has contributed to several finance and financial planning curriculums including the CFP program. He has also chaired and served on the board of several professional education committees with the Tax Institute, FPA, CAANZ, CFA Institute, SMSF Association and CPA.
Nidal holds a Master of Commerce, he is a Chartered Accountant and CA SMSF Specialist, Fellow CPA Financial Planning Specialist, Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Tax Adviser, Registered Tax Agent, and a member of the CFA Institute and the SMSF Association. Nidal has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry.
