Resources for research

The UNSW Business School is committed to providing our staff and research students with a well-resourced environment in which they undertake their research. We offer excellent research facilities and financial support.

Experimental Research Laboratory

The UNSW Business School Experimental Research Laboratory (BizLab) is a state-of-the-art facility for conducting controlled experiments and simulations in business and economics.

Bizlab is available for use by academic staff and research students across all schools within the UNSW Business School. The laboratory has 48 fixed touchscreen workstations, instruments available for bio-physiological measurements, a 20-person negotiation table with a corresponding number of laptops and movable dividers, a private observation area, and a registered pool of people willing to participate in human-subject experiments.

BizLab provides Small Project Grants, ranging from $1,000 to $3,000, to assist Higher Degree Research (HDR) students in running experimental studies in the laboratory.

Human Research Ethics

Ethics approval is required for any UNSW staff or students who intend to conduct human research. Information for UNSW Business School staff and students on applying for ethics approval is available on the school intranet. UNSW Library

UNSW Library is one of Australia's major research libraries, with extensive scholarly information resources. It serves a large population of academic staff and students on two campuses and affiliated research institutes, as such UNSW Library is a key resource supporting the students and academics of UNSW Business School.

UNSW Library research consultations connect researchers to the information and skills needed to support their research. Research consultations provide an extended opportunity for students and staff to have specific research queries answered, locate relevant information tools and develop research strategies tailored to their individual or group needs.

The Business Subject guide is an easy to navigate list of the key business resources available from the library, sorted by specialisation area.

Outreach Librarians provide UNSW professional and academic staff with a personalised point of contact for UNSW Library. They promote UNSW Library's collections and services and gather information about the needs of clients to shape service development and delivery.

Additional resources for research students

Resources and information for postgraduate research students can be found on the UNSW Graduate Research School website. These resources include scholarships for living expenses and funding for conference travel. The UNSW Business School provides supplementary scholarship opportunities. Additional resources are available for research students from each School.
