Workshops: Reflective Writing

This workshop provides insight into the various text structures and language requirements of the reflective writing genre.

In the workshop you will explore:

  • the stages of a reflective piece or writing
  • the information requirements of each stage
  • language appropriate to writing a reflective essay

Reading and critical thinking are key skills for university study. This workshop will explore how to read to identify the underlying meaning of a text and then how to use this new perspective in your writing.

In the workshop you will explore:

  • Approaches to reading a text critically
  • Synthesis of information from research
  • Application of information to academic discourse

  • Who and what to include in evidence integration

The focus is on developing the student’s ability to manipulate language and sentence structure to achieve conciseness in their writing.
